Several years back Albert began realizing how miserable he was with his job. He has worked for 30+ years in the automotive business. This career provided a lovely life for our family… a beautiful home, wonderful vacations, etc.. But, he worked so many long hours and sometimes twice a month on Saturdays. He, also, had to deal with the public (who aren’t as nice as they used to be). He often had to leave family vacations; he lost a lot of sleep, and regrets not getting to be present for all of our girls sporting/school events. I began working from home after COVID as a Counselor and have the flexibility to work from anywhere with Wi-Fi. Our parents are aging and we want to be more available to care for them. The days and weeks are literally flying by. I can’t remember exactly how, but full time RV living came across our paths about a year ago. We started looking into it, but decided to put in on the shelf for awhile. We wanted to invest in our community and give Albert’s new job a chance. A year later, he was still miserable and time was flying by even faster. We began asking again, “What are we doing? Why are we doing this? Who says we have to do life this way?” We were tired of waiting for later. We began praying and watching YouTube videos by full time RVer’s in the evenings. We started following all of the social media pages and researching types of RV’s. We finally decided to take the plunge! We started telling friends and family. Much to our surprise, everyone was so supportive! We talked with our realtor and started the ball rolling. However… a week before our home was supposed to go on the market we had a horrible storm roll through our neighborhood. Our very large vinyl fence (We have almost an acre property and the fence covered most of it.) was 80% demolished! We had some other damage as well and definitely couldn’t put our house on the market the following week. Did we question what we were doing then? Yes, we did. But… God. He is so good! We were able to use our homeowners insurance and we ended up making money on the whole thing! We had the fence back up within two weeks and the house on the market shortly after! Now to sell this house and find the perfect RV with NOTHING RESERVED!! Stay tuned!
